About

A notary you meet in person.

JMC Mobile Notary was founded by Jordan M. Carter to make important paperwork simple, secure, and stress-free. When you book JMC, the notary who checks your documents is the notary who comes to you.

Jordan has been a commissioned Texas notary since 2018 and a certified signing agent since 2019, working in English and Spanish. JMC started after Jordan saw how often families lost days to a single missing signature.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Rules differ by state and by document. These answers are general; we confirm the details for your document before any signing.

Still have a question?

Call or text and a notary answers, usually within one business hour.

Ask your own question

Notarization

What is a notary?

A notary public is an official who verifies identity, watches a person sign, and completes a notarial certificate. The notary confirms the signing, not the content of the document.

What documents can be notarized?

Common examples include affidavits, powers of attorney, deeds, loan documents, and consent forms. Some documents have special rules, so tell us what you have and we will confirm.

What ID do signers need?

A current, government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state ID card, or passport, for every signer. Accepted IDs vary by state, so we confirm yours before the visit.

Can you visit a hospital or care facility?

Tell us the facility and the signer’s situation when you request a quote. The signer must be alert, understand what they are signing, and be able to sign; a notary cannot proceed otherwise.

Can you notarize a document in another language?

Often, yes, as long as the signer understands the document and the notarial certificate meets state rules. Requirements vary by state, so tell us the language when you request a quote.

Apostille

What is an apostille?

An apostille is a certificate that verifies the origin of a public document, such as its signer or issuing office. It is used in countries that participate in the Hague Apostille Convention.

When do I need an apostille?

You usually need one when a foreign office, school, employer, or government asks for proof that a U.S. document is authentic. Check the receiving party’s requirements first.

How long does apostille processing take?

Timing depends on the issuing office and its current workload. When we quote your request, we give you an estimate and keep you updated as it moves.

What if the country is not in the Hague Convention?

Those countries do not accept apostilles. The document is authenticated first and then legalized by that country’s embassy or consulate. We point you to the right route in your quote.

Booking & cost

How much does it cost?

In most states, the fee for each notarized signature is capped by law. Travel and any apostille fees depend on the job, and you get the full amount in a written quote before we meet.

What should I have ready?

The original, unsigned document and valid photo ID for each signer. If witnesses or extra pages are needed, we tell you when we confirm the details.

How do I get started?

Send us a request with the document type, the number of pages and signers, and where and when you need us. We reply with a written quote before we meet.

Request a quote

Tell us what you need. We reply with a written quote.

Two short steps. We confirm what your document needs and send the full price before anyone travels.
